Rules 2014 - See in the Sea UW Photo Contest OrtonAmare
The contest, whose theme is free, is open to all photographers, divers and non-divers. The sections in which is divided the contest are the following:
• Wide Angle:
The image, in color or B / W, should be a panoramic shooting of the underwater environment, there’re allowed the long shots and backlight: the human presence can be included in the image as a complementary element. The photographer is free to interpret the theme according to his compositive taste using any type of technique. In addition are allowed photo presenting a 1/3 relationship, between outer part and underwater part.
• Macro:
The image, in color or B / W, must represent whole water subjects, or particular of subjects or underwater life, highlighting the best aesthetic taste through compositional choices and colors. It’s allowed any kind of technique as long as the main subject of the image represents the theme.
• Freshwater:
the underwater image, color or B / W, wide-angle or macro, made in freshwaters (lake and rivers), representing environments and organisms.
• Mediterranean portfolio:
Those are series of three underwater photographs in color, that exalts typical environments and fauna of the Mediterranean Sea.
• Rookie:
Whoever hasn’t won a contest of national and international importance, will be able to participate with works, both Macro or Environmental, made by any photographic equipment, in the underwater world. The theme is free and only color images are allowed.
• Outdoor unit according the theme: "The Sea’s Craft":
The image, in color or B / W, should represent sea-related work activities, excluding recreational and sports activities. This ranking section is open to everyone.
NOTE: The Rookie section aims to encourage participation in the Contest, to those who want to appear in this recreational activity. However, the Rookie can participate in any other categories of the contest.

THE PRESENTATION OF FILES IN CONTEST
Art. 1)
Authors may submit a maximum of 2 files for each section, except for the Mediterranean portfolio in which will be accepted only one set of three photos.
The same picture can not be presented in more sections.
To enter the contest, you will need to connect - from 01.09.2014 to 09.30.2014 - to the official contest page www.ortonamare.org and enter in the section dedicated to enrollment.
In order to submit yours own works, you will need to register yourself on the portal www.ortonamare.org and give yours consent to the processing of data.
Once you have registered, you will have to login.
Logged into the portal you will be able to select the "subscribe" key and start the loading of your works following the instructions.
Please note that each work:
• Must be in JPG format (the only format accepted).
• Do not exceed 5Mb weight.
• Must have the following dimensions : 30x40 or 30x45 with 200 dpi.
• Must have a title (it must contain only alphanumeric characters without the use of apostrophes, commas, brackets, etc...)
The jury, in case of dispute and contingencies in which it deems it appropriate, reserves the right to ask the author a file that contains all the Exif data for further feedback.
Art. 2)
For digital images are allowed:
• a maximum crop of 20% of the original image;
• the use of the clone stamp to clean them from any tiny defects;
• brightness and contrast;
• files obtained from prints and slides will be scanned in high resolution;
• The jury, in its discretion, may ask to see the original shots in RAW or JPEG not manipulated with photo editing programs.
Images must be without any cornices or passe-partout. Are not permitted underwater images taken through submerged porthole, aquariums, swimming pools.
There will not be allowed images that reveal : damage to the seabed, frightened, stressed or in unnatural situations animals, except images that want to document or denounce negative humans manifestations;
• are NOT allowed photomontages, overexposure of images (the double exposure technique is allowed).
Art. 3)
As reimbursement, it’s requested a registration fee of € 15.00 for those subscribed in one category, and of € 25.00 for those enrolled in multiple categories.
The payment can be made by “Paypal” once you upload the works of the various contexts in which you have participated.

Art. 4)
The images are viewed on quality monitors, aligned with current international standards of color management. The organization will insert each file in folders divided into sections, so that the jury can view them independently ones from each others, and without knowing the names of the photographers.
Art. 5)
Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in each section of the contest.
NOTE: at the discretion of the Jury will be awarded prizes, regardless of category and thematic, also in pictures that the regulation qualifies as "REPORTED".
Art. 6)
The organization will provide to report the prints of all the winning photos, reported ones and all those that, at the discretion of the Jury, will highlight technical and emotional motives of interest. The prints of the images will be exhibited during the awards ceremony.
The winning photos, the reported and the most representative ones, will be published on the official website www.ortonamare.org and on the Facebook page of the contest
Art. 7)
The works will be admitted to the contest exclusively upon payment of the fee referred to in Article 3.
THE AWARDS CERIMONY
The awards cerimony of the images and photographers who have taken, for all categories, and unless otherwise notified, will take place on:

Given that it is particularly welcome the presence of the authors at the awards ceremony, the organization will notify to all the winners, the program of the event in detail.
NOTE: The prizes not collected, due to the absence of the winners or their delegate, will be dispatched by the Organization only with regard to the international award-winning resident abroad. For all other, it can be provided, by prior telephone arrangement with the organization, even if only with the marking formula with the sole responsibility of the recipient.

AWARDS
Prize Pool: Travels diving, underwater photography equipment and accessories, diving equipment, etc..
NOTE 1: The mode of use of the prize (Cruises - Holidays - Full day - Equipment - etc. ..) and their peculiarities, are regulated directly by the Owners of the cooperation offered by ORTONA SUB for the administration of the Contest "SEE in the SEA UW OrtonAmare Photo Contest" 2014.
Those who were previously interested in further details or specific information, will have to make direct contact with the supplier partners of the prizes.
NOTE 2: The prizes are not cumulative.
Prizes not collected and had been stored at the organization without being claimed, once one month after the date of the award ceremony, will automatically enter in the prize pool of following year contest.
COPYRIGHT AND LICENSING OF IMAGES
The organization, in accordance with the established laws relating to copyright, considers the works presented in contest, free from any right of ownership or artistic rights belonging to third parties.
Competitors authorize the use of their work by the Organisation for promotion operations of the Contest, including posters, brochures, calendars nonprofit and publications on the web.
The images, released from the payment of copyright or any other type of remuneration, will always be used with the obligation to mention the author's name.
In no case, however, the organizers will make commercial use of these works and people possibly interested in purchasing a work, will be put directly in contact with the author.
The competitors with the participation in the Contest, authorize the organization to the processing of data in order to get updates about developments of this initiative is well understood that the data will in no case be transmitted to third parties, in compliance with the established by Law 196/2003 on the protection of personal data;
NOTE: The registration and participation in the Contest constitutes acceptance of the present Regulation. The files and prints their respective categories, will not be returned and will become part of the show.

According to Article 13 of the above mentioned law, we INFORME you that ORTONA SUB treats the personal data of sympathizers, collaborators, suppliers and persons who have voluntarily provided (personally, by phone, by fax, by e-mail or registering on the website www . ortonasub.com) their personal information to our agents, in order to receive information about our services and / or initiatives.
According to the law (Article 2 - Purpose), ORTONA SUB guarantees that the processing of personal data will be processed respecting their rights and fundamental freedoms and dignity, with particular reference to reservedness, to personal identity and to the right to protection of personal data.
Purpose of the processing of personal data: obligations related to the economic activity and in particular for the compilation of personal data, internal statistics, for billing, bookkeeping of the customers and suppliers, to satisfy the obligations imposed by the law, by the regulations, by the Community legislation, by civil and fiscal norms.
The data collected by the employee in relation to initiatives and anything else related to the activities of ORTONA SUB, will be retained for the purpose of sending information and promotional material relating to the activities of ORTONA SUB itself (via mail, fax, SMS and email ).
The data processing is done using paper and / or computer, by telematically, also through automated tools to store, manage and transmit the data, with the observance of all cautionary measures that ensure the safety and confidentiality.
All personal data, if necessary, shall be communicated to all the individuals whose faculty of access in such data, is recognized by legislative measures.
The data are stored at the headquarters of our company, for the time prescribed by civil and fiscal laws.
The holder of the treatment is: ORTONA SUB - Ortona (CH).
The provision of personal data by individuals who wish to open a relationship with the non-strategic association, even if only merely informative about our activities / services is considered optional, but failure to provide could result in the interruption of the relationship, of its proper development and of any legal obligations, including fiscal ones.
We also inform you that, in relation to this treatment, the interested parties, may at any moment to exercise the rights under Art. 7 and art. 8, in the manner expressed by art. 9 of the same Decree-Law nr. 196 of 30 June 2003, speaking directly to the Head of the treatment by post, fax or e-mail.
AGREEMENT to the processing of personal data
In relation to the request that was made to us, took note of the above information, and in particular, took note of the rights recognized in Art. 7 of the Decree Law 196/2003, the person concerned
1. Shall have the right to obtain confirmation of the existence or not of personal data concerning him, even if not yet recorded, and their communication in intelligible form.
2. Shall have the right to obtain the indication of:
a) the origin of personal data;
b) the purposes and methods of treatment;
c) the logic applied in case of treatment with the aid of electronic instruments;
d) the identity of the owner, manager and the representative appointed
and according to article 5, paragraph 2,
3. Shall have the right to obtain:
a) updating, rectification or, when interested, integration of data;
b) cancellation, transformation into anonymous form or blocking of data processed unlawfully, including data whose retention is unnecessary for the purposes for which the data were collected or subsequently processed;
c) certification that the operations in letters a) and b) have been notified, as also related to their contents, to those to whom the data were communicated or distributed, except in the case in which such fulfillment proves impossible or involves the use of means manifestly disproportionate to the protected right.
4. Shall have the right to oppose, in all or in part:
a) for legitimate reasons to the processing of personal data concerning him, even if pertinent to purpose of the collection;
b) to the processing of personal data concerning him for purposes of sending advertising materials or direct selling or for carrying out market research or commercial communication.
We pay our consent within the meaning of Article 23 of Law Decree, to the treatment of our personal data and to their communication and diffusion, for the purposes and within the limits of the previously mentioned informative.
